Funny Story

So earlier today I was updating the blog while talking with my friend Amie. We were looking for Breaking Dawn backgrounds and I found the one I currently am using. It was closest to the cover of the fourth book in the Twilight series. Well Amie has since found a perfect match. Amie you are too funny. Check out her Blog at

I love it!!! I still like me though, it gives it a different twist!!!

And just a reminder there is less then 7 days left for Breaking Dawn!!!

July 24th Pioneer Day

Yesterday was Pioneer Day July 24Th, which is a Utah State holiday. We celebrate the pioneers who came from east to west and settled this area along with the Utah's statehood. For that celebration we hung out with my parents. We went shopping at IKEA where we stayed for dinner. After we went back to my parents place where we finished off the fireworks from the 4Th of July. Jarren loves to help light the fireworks , Jacob just watches timidly. Joseph on the other hand does NOT like the fireworks. Joseph mostly hung out in the house and cried. We normally go all out on Pioneer Day, but this year it was more relaxed. Which was enjoyable for a change. Here are some pictures from the fireworks.

Jarren enjoying some of the cool fireworks.

I asked for a cute father and son photo and this is what I got!!
Here is Joseph in my parents home crying about the sound of the fireworks. So Sad!

Jacob covering his ears. He enjoys watching them, but does not care for the noise they make.

Joseph and Jacob hanging out inside where it is safe from the fireworks.

John and I

John and my Dad trying to decide what to light next.

John lighting the next fire work.

There it goes in the sky! I was lucky to catch this shot. I was not sure I would get it in time.

Here is a video that we took of my Dad lighting off a bunch of fire crackers. It is dark at first and you can not see my Dad, but wait and watch them pop with all that noise. It was lots of fun!!!

This past weekend we went near Mirror Lake just past Kamas. Where we had the Jonas Family Reunion ( my mothers side of the family). We had a nice camp ground there. My dad did most of the cooking, followed by some fun games for the kids and a Chinese auction to raise money for next years reunion. All in all we had a great time. Here are some pictures that were taken while we were there.

Joseph Being Funny

Joseph is so funny and cute. He loves to wear Jarren's old Elmo snow boots around the house. Joseph is my shoe child. If there are pair of shoes laying around he will put them on, so if you find that your shoes have gone missing then there is a good chance Joseph has them. But as long as Jarren and Jacob's closet doors are open he will put those boots on. I had to share this picture, because he also does not like to wear pants. So we call this our white trash baby look saggy diaper and binky in mouth.

Time to Swim

This month Jarren and Jacob are taking swim lessons. This is Jarren's second time and Jacob's first. They both love to go swimming. We have lessons twice a week for an hour. The boys wish they had them everyday. They have been learning to blow bubbles in the water, float on back and tummy. Jarren is learning how to dive into the water, while Jacob is learning to just jump in the to the water.

The Back of Jarren learning to float on tummy.

Better view of Jarren in the water.

Jacob in the middle learning to blow bubbles in the water.

Jacob with his teacher helping him to drive under water and get a toy missile.

At the end of each class they have all the kids jump off the diving board. So here is video of each Jarren and Jacob jumping off the diving board into 11 feet of water. They do pretty good.

Jarren's Big jump into the pool.

Jacob's turn to jump into the pool.

Sunday Picnic

With the weather all nice on a Sunday Afternoon we like to take hot dogs and marshmallows up the canyon and roast them. This last time My sister Heather was able to join us. The boys love to help grandpa build a fire and roast their own hot dog and Marshmallows. Grandma showed the boys how to burn your marshmallow. The boys did not like them like that. So she had to slow it down to teach them out get one nice and golden brown.

Heather, Jacob, and Jarren starting to roast their hot dogs.

John, Myself, and My Dad finally starting to get ours.

Heather and Joseph enjoying their food.

Jarren Learning that Smores are very sticking.

Lost Our First Tooth

Jarren has lost his 1st tooth! Wow, he is really getting older.
He was so excited about it. He wrapped it so carefully for the tooth fairy. I think he was more excited that he got a dollar from it though. Congrats Jarren on that first tooth.

Yellowstone 2008

At the end of June we went to Yellowstone with my parents, brother Sean, his wife Natalie, and cousin Skyler. Where we stayed in a cabin just outside West Yellowstone. We had so much fun!! My dad had gotten fishing poles for Jarren and Jacob and took them fishing for the first time. And they sure loved it. Jacob was the only to catch a fish. Jarren and Jacob now ask everyday when Grandpa will take them fishing again. So I guess you could say I have some fishermen on my hands now.
While in Yellowstone we of course saw Old Faithful, lots of cool geysers, and stinky mud pots. It is always beautiful to go to Yellowstone. The scenery is always changing with volcanic activity. The boys really liked it as well. They Enjoyed the fact that we were in the volcano.
While there staying in the cabin my good friend Amie that I met through TwilightMoms.com came up with her family to visit since they live about an hour away. They joined up for dinner and stayed up to play a very long game of Settlers. It was very nice to see her and her family.
On the way home from our trip to Yellowstone we thought it would be great to take the long way and come through the Great Tetons. Now if you want to see some very pretty mountains the Tetons are a must see!!. The long drive was worth it!! I am sure the kids would have enjoyed the shorter way home though. All in all they travel very well.

Jarren and Jacob walking to going fishing for the 1st time. I love this photo.

Jacob, Jarren, my Dad, and Skyler, enjoying the first cast off.

Skyler and Jacob

Here Jacob and John holding the first and only catch of the day. Way to go Jacob!!!

More Fun In The Sun

Here are some fun pictures of the boys sliding on a very large slip in slide at our neighbors home. It started out to be just a small slip in slide until our neighbor Jeff and our other neighbor Chad decided to turn the hill side into one large slide. At first it was just us adults sliding down. Then the kids started. I think we had more fun though. Sorry I did not get any pictures on my camera of us adults. I know that there are few some where.

Jacob taking his turn down!!! Weee

Look at Jarren go!!
